I completed the Competent Communicator manual after delivering this speech. This speech is more of a review of my journey with Toastmasters. By sharing my experience and the benefit earned from Toastmasters, I’d like to inspired the audience to get more involved with Toastmasters.

Husband : ‘I was looking for the expiry date.’

Once upon a time in a village in India, a man announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10.

The villagers seeing there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10, but, as the supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. The man further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.

Dubai may need help from Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates government to finance a surge in borrowing that paid for the world’s tallest tower, palm tree- shaped man-made islands and stakes in banks worldwide.

Dubai’s “potential reliance” will be “most significant” in coming years, Moody’s Investors Service said in a report today. Government-controlled companies owe at least $47 billion, more than Dubai’s gross domestic product, and they will continue to accumulate debt at a faster pace than the economy grows, the New York-based rating firm said.

The celebration of the 50^th has its origin from Hebrew scripture. God rested on the 7^th day after creation; Hence the year that comes after 7 times 7 years ie. 49 years or 7 Sabbath years was observed for perfect rest and liberty. “And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land…” (Leviticus 25). Debts were to be written off and slaves were to be freed. The word Jubilee comes from the word ‘Yobel’ meaning ram’s horn. A ceremonial blowing inaugurated the Jubilee.
